OTTAWA — The Algonquin College Foundation is proud to announce a new partnership with the Egg Farmers of Ontario.

The partnership will include opportunities for applied research, the creation of a state-of-the art pastry lab, the development of an annual food symposium, and various special events, including a new brunch series at Restaurant International, the restaurant staffed by students of the College’s School of Hospitality and Tourism.

The School of Hospitality and Tourism is planning a “Celebrity Brunch” series open to the public that will feature celebrity chefs preparing egg-inspired dishes. It will focus on culinary graduates of Algonquin College and other high profile community leaders.

“This is an incredible opportunity for us to collaborate with an organization that shares our goal of creating Canada’s next generation of top chefs,” said Cheryl Jensen, President of Algonquin College. “Through the generous support of the Egg Farmers of Ontario, we will be even better able to fulfil our mission of transforming hopes and dreams into lifelong success.”

Participating programs, whose students and faculty members will now proudly wear the Egg Farmers of Ontario logo on their whites, will include:

  • Baking and Pastry Arts, Baking and Pastry Arts Management,
  • Bachelor of Hospitality and Tourism Management,
  • Culinary Skills, Culinary Management, and
  • Hospitality - Hotel and Restaurant Operations Management.

“We are very excited to work with Algonquin College and its students and faculty,” said Scott Graham, Chair of Egg Farmers of Ontario. “Eggs are an important ingredient in each of the student chefs’ experience and training and we are proud to be a partner in their journey by supplying fresh, high-quality eggs for Ontarians.”
