Breakfast at Paul's Kitchen

My visit to Windsor a few weeks ago included an overnight stay which meant I was on the hunt for a place to eat breakfast the next morning. My search brought me to Paul's Kitchen (2565 Dougall Avenue), a small restaurant (I think I counted 32 seats) just steps from the intersection of Ouellette and Dougall Avenues. When I arrived a little after 9 a.m. on that Friday morning, all the tables were filled except for one in the back corner. It was the perfect position from which to observe the bustling activity around me. As people finished their breakfast and got up to leave, someone else arrived to take their table. Servers moved quickly and effeciently about with large colourful plates of food. Conversations swirled around me. Although the restaurant was busy, the vibe was relaxed as people tucked enthusiastically into their breakfasts.

Breakfast at Paul's Kitchen

Eggs Benedict served at Paul's Kitchen in Windsor, Ontario

I love poached eggs so opted to give the Eggs Benedict a try. Paul's Kitchen bills theirs as "the best in town". Since this is the only place I've now eaten Eggs Benedict in Windsor, I'm not in a legitimate position to assess whether their evaluation is accurate. If you've eaten Eggs Benny at a few breakfast spots in Windsor and want to weigh in on this, please be my guest! The Eggs Benedict at P's K were indeed good. They were served with a ring of pineapple under each egg and slice of peameal bacon, and a side of hash browns. The menu also included a varied selection of omelettes, as well as buttermilk pancakes, French toast, crepes, waffles, 'eggs done your way' with sausage, bacon, ham or steak, and breakfast sandwiches. Paul's Kitchen is open Monday to Saturday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. You can find more great places to enjoy breakfast in Windsor at Ontario's Best Breakfasts.
