October is the perfect time to celebrate eggs on a global scale! In honour of World Egg Day (October 10, 2025), we’re taking students on a culinary and cultural journey with our theme: Eggs Around the World.
Eggs are enjoyed in every corner of the globe, and each country brings its own unique twist to this nutritious staple. This month, we’re highlighting three egg dishes inspired by international flavours:
Featured Dishes

Chicken Katsu Sliders (Japan)
Crispy, golden chicken katsu served on a slider bun brings a Japanese street-food favourite to life in bite-sized form. A delicious way to explore Japan’s love of texture and flavour!
Greek Eggs on Naan (Greece)
Fluffy scrambled eggs paired with Mediterranean toppings like spinach, tomato, and feta, all on soft naan bread. This dish celebrates the bright, fresh flavours of Greek cuisine.

Egg Calzone (Italy)
portable Italian classic! This folded pizza pocket hides a savoury surprise of eggs, cheese, and veggies inside—perfect for showing how eggs make their way into Italian comfort food.
Classroom Connections
- Geography: Map out where different egg dishes come from.
- Culture: Discuss how food reflects traditions in each country.
- Literacy: Have students write a “food passport” entry after “tasting” or learning about each dish.
We’ve also included a World Egg Day Activity Pack to support your classroom:
