If you’re looking for a wow-factor Easter craft, look no further than the String Egg Garland to decorate your classroom! Each student can make their very own egg to contribute to a beautiful class garland ready just in time for Easter!
What you need:
- Easter-colored yarn (yellow, pink, purple, soft blue)
- Craft glue
- Sponge paintbrush
- Balloons
- Cup or jar
- String egg garland printout (optional)
Step 1
Blow up the balloon just enough to achieve an egg shape. Stretch the balloon before to avoid it being rounded.
Step 2
Tie the end of the yarn to the tied piece of your balloon.
Step 3
Paint a thin layer of glue on the balloon, while keeping it stable in a cup or jar.
Step 4
Wrap the yarn around the balloon in all different directions to cover most of the surface. You can leave some empty spaces.
Step 5
Once the yarn is in place, cover the balloon a second time, to soak the yarn completely. This will ensure the egg shape stays in place when you go to pop the balloon.
Step 6
Wait a full 24 hours to allow the glue to fully dry. Once the glue and yarn are fully dry, use a pin to pop the balloons.
Step 7
Using the same yarn, run a long piece through each one of the eggs to hang your garland.
Happy Easter!
