What is the purpose of the Teacher Portal?
The Teacher Portal serves as a landing page for the resources needed to complete the program, along with additional extras for you to explore.
- How do I use the portal?
Begin with the first tab, “Before The Visit,” then proceed to Part 2, “The Grading Station,” and finish in Part 3, “The Kitchen.” Conclude the program by awarding students a certificate (digitally or physically) and complete the survey to help others enjoy the program. You’ll also find supportive resources such as videos, games, and content to enrich your experience.
- Who has access to the Teacher Portal?
Only those completing the program should have access to the Teacher Portal. The program starts with the farmer presentation, followed by the grading station, and concludes in the kitchen.
- How do I download or print the resources?
PDF and image resources are linked to our Google Drive with options to download and print. Videos and slideshows, however, are not available for print.
- What do I do when I finish the program?
Visit the “After the Visit” section and explore our “Supportive Resources” for even more eggs-citing content. You can also check out our education site at www.getcracking.ca/education.
- Can I submit ideas for new lesson plans or activities?
Complete our survey under the “After the Visit” tab to share your ideas and help improve the program.
- Are there more opportunities to interact with farmers?
Egg Farmers of Ontario attend various events throughout the year, including the CNE in the summer and The Royal Agricultural Fair in the fall. Local Ontario egg farmers participate in these events, providing opportunities for further interaction.
