Egg Farmers of Ontario (EFO) has decided to postpone its Annual General Meeting that had been scheduled for March 31 and April 1, 2020 in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

The evolving COVID-19 coronavirus situation prompted the move out of an abundance of caution, based on information and recommendations provided by public health officials. The ongoing situation will be monitored and potential plans will be communicated to farmers as details become available.

Hotel reservations made with the Fallsview Casino and/or the Hilton Niagara Falls, as part of the EFO room reservation block for the event will be automatically cancelled. Any farmers or guests that made reservations outside of EFO’s block reservation need to contact the hotel directly to cancel those commitments.

In terms of ongoing EFO operations:

EFO fieldstaff will discontinue farm visits until further notice. They are available to consult with farmers by phone or email. Some situations, such as closing out a CAR from recent inspection, may possibly be resolved by providing photos, etc.

At this time, EFO’s office will continue to operate its normal business hours. Some staff may be working offsite as needed or self-isolate as a result of travel or other conditions as necessary.
