It's time to get decorating Ontario!

April 4th, 2014

It’s time to get decorating Ontario! The Eggs Factor virtual egg decorating contest is back and better than ever, with a dozen chances to win an iPad® mini. What could be better than that? For every valid entry,  Egg Farmers of Ontario (EFO) will be donating one dozen eggs to school nutrition programs, feeding hungry school kids. It’s easy to enter- just visit eggsfactor.ca and use the drawing, painting, and colouring tools to design a stellar cock-a-doodle doodle. In need of a little inspiration for your creation? We’ve compiled some of history’s greatest eggs to get you started: Take it From Art By far, the most famous eggs in the world are those designed by Peter Carl Fabergé. Ornate and bejeweled, the Fabergé eggs were originally created for Russian Tsar Alexander III in 1885. In total, 50 eggs were made, and 43 still survive today in collections around the world. Take it From Nature Nature is full of examples of beautiful eggs, but by far the egg that stirs our hearts and signals the arrival of spring the most is the Robin’s egg. That gorgeous deep turquoise colour and those cute little speckles make the Robin’s egg a natural favourite. Take it From the Kitchen Of course, the biggest reason to love eggs is the great taste. So what better place to seek inspiration for your Eggs Factor entry than the kitchen? Scrambled, poached, over easy, or sunny side up, few things can make your morning- or your virtual egg- brighter than a drool-worthy egg dish. Now that you’re inspired, don’t scramble at the last minute to get your entries in. You need to enter before April 22nd, 2014, giving you plenty of time to design as many virtual eggs as you like. That’s right – enter as many times as you please and contribute to a dozen eggs donated with each and every entry. Take the time to join in the fun and make a kid’s day “eggs-tra” special. Visit eggsfactor.ca for more information, or to begin your design today!
