How do you make a soft boiled egg?

To make the perfect soft-boiled egg, place the eggs in a single layer at the bottom of a pot and cover them with cold water, ensuring the water level is about an inch higher than the eggs. Cover the pot and bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat.

Once the water reaches a boil, remove the pot from heat and let it sit, covered, for 3 to 4 minutes.

After the time is up, drain the water and immediately run cold water over the eggs until they are cooled, or transfer them to an ice bath to stop the cooking process.

For easier peeling, try using eggs closer to their Best Before date. The less fresh the egg, the easier it will be to peel!
