Preheat oven to 350ºF (180ºC).

In a large bowl, mix oatmeal, flour, sugar, rosemary, apple, carrots, and raisins. In medium bowl, blend egg, canola oil, honey, molasses or syrup and water. Add dry ingredients to liquid ingredients. Stir until completely mixed.

Using tablespoon, drop small mounds of the mixture onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake until crisp on the outside, about 15-20 minutes. Cool. Store in a tightly sealed container.


  • As carrots and apples vary in water content, an additional 1 tbsp. (15 mL) water may be needed so dough slides easily from spoon to cookie sheet.
  • As a variation: use 4-6 sweet crab apples rather than an apple; substitute cooked and mashed pumpkin or squash (3/4 cup or 175mL) for carrots.
