On February 24th, Egg Farmers of Ontario (EFO) and the Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) came together to host the Skillet Skate—an exciting event that brought together young hockey players and families from Ontario’s egg and pullet farms for a memorable evening of fun on the ice.
The event kicked off with a warm welcome from third-generation egg farmer, Julie Wynette, who set the tone for an evening of learning, sportsmanship, and community. The excitement soared when Tyler McGregor, captain of Canada’s National Para Ice Hockey Team, took the lead, guiding the kids through skill-building drills and scrimmages.
Thanks to Tyler’s expertise and encouragement, each child had the chance to learn from a true champion—Tyler, a two-time World Champion and three-time Paralympic medalist, shared his experience and passion for the game with the participants.
To wrap up the night, one lucky participant walked away with a signed jersey from Tyler McGregor, a perfect memento to remember the evening by.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who came out and made the Skillet Skate event such a success. It was a night of skating, learning, and community spirit that we won’t forget!
