Do I have to wash my eggs to sell them from my farm?

Answered by Egg Farmers of Ontario June 13th, 2021

Answer

According to Ontario Regulation 171/10, Section 5(1), under the Ontario Food Safety and Quality Act, you may sell ungraded eggs produced on your premises if the eggs are clean and not leaking. This means you are not required to wash your eggs, but they must meet these standards of cleanliness to be sold legally.
