Why did you decide to raise your kids on the farm?

"We decided to raise our kids on the farm because we wanted to share with our children our love of working with animals and teach them the rewards that come from hard work. Both of our children are planning on attending University to advance their education and ultimately come back and run the family farm."

What do you like about raising your children on a farm?

"They learn slowly the notions of work, starting with small jobs. They learn that you can’t take everything for granted and that you need to work to get pennies for candies!"

What are you most excited about as the next generation of egg farmers?

"Although not in the way we would have ever hoped it, the exciting opportunity for us three sisters to run and grow our family egg farming business has only brought us closer together. We believe the egg farming business is ready for innovation and creativity in thinking in the way we do things and we’re more than happy to apply our skills in doing that."

What does family mean to you?

"Everything. That’s what life’s about really. And that’s another beauty about living on a farm – they are much closer to you than if they were in town or if they had a job away from home. Family can be totally integrated in the farm."
